Dolby Brings Its Dolby On App to Android, Adds Twitch Support on iOS

Posted April 2, 2020 | Dolby | Dolby On | Mobile | Windows

Dolby has an interesting app for phones called Dolby On. The app, which has been available on iOS for a little while, allows users to record music and videos from their phones with high-quality audio.

Dolby On takes advantage of the years of experience Dolby has with high-quality audio. The app uses some of this tech to enable things like noise reduction to allow for the high-quality sound it promises when recording audio/video with the Dolby On app.

Today, Dolby is bringing the same app to its Android users. The new Dolby On app for Android works exactly like its iPhone counterpart, allowing users to record high-quality audio and video on their phone. It doesn’t require any additional hardware, which is the main selling point of the app.

Along with Dolby On landing on Android devices, the company is adding Twitch integration to the Dolby On app for iOS. With support for Twitch, users can now stream to either Twitch or Facebook right from the Dolby On app while keeping the high-quality sound features. “By adding Twitch to our list of live streaming options for Dolby On, our free app, any artist can sound great – even without a home studio or expensive microphone,” said Philip Nicol, Director of Corporate Strategy and Development at Dolby Laboratories.

You can download the Dolby On app here.
