Xbox One Is Getting New Interface Updates With the Next Update

Posted April 7, 2020 | Windows | Xbox | Xbox One

Microsoft is testing a new update for the Xbox One system with Xbox Insiders this week. The new update has been in testing with Insiders for a little, but Microsoft highlighted some of the main changes in the update on Monday evening.

The new update will likely roll out to all users soon, and it mostly focuses on changes to the dashboard interface.

With the latest update, Microsoft is testing a simplified guide layout. The company is experimenting with a new streamlined interface that makes use of a left-to-right order configuration for the different tabs at the top. The company is also changing up how things are organized within the Guide.

For example, party, messaging, and invites have been combined in the new “Parties & chats” tab while settings, audio, and power options are now located in the “Profile & system” tab.

Microsoft says the company will continue to evolve the Home experience on Xbox based on Insider feedback.

There have also been some changes made in the “My Games and Apps Updates” section. Microsoft is bringing back the popular “Surprise me!” button which essentially suggests a random game in your library based on selected filters for when you are not quite sure what you want to play.

And last but not least, the Mixer experience has been improved to include emotes and subscriber badges in chat, as well as making it easier to access stream settings from your controller.
